OUR PROGRAMS
For seven decades, The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship® (ASF) has followed in Nobel Peace Laureate Dr. Albert Schweitzer’s footsteps by working to meet the health needs of vulnerable populations.
Since its founding in 1940, ASF’s mission has grown far beyond its original focus on supporting the African hospital Dr. Schweitzer founded in Lambaréné, Gabon in 1913. Today, ASF promotes Dr. Schweitzer’s legacy of service through four core programs.

These programs support ASF’s mission of addressing health disparities by developing “Leaders in Service”: individuals who are dedicated and skilled in meeting the health needs of underserved communities, and whose example influences and inspires others.
