Four ASF board members (President Lachlan Forrow, MD; Co-Chair Timothy Johnson, MD; Mitchell T. Rabkin, MD; and Chair Emeritus Mark L. Wolf) are making headlines:
- Lachlan Forrow — who is Director of Ethics and Palliative Care Programs at our host organization, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center — is Boston.com’s newest health blogger. Forrow is a skilled and compassionate end-of-life care expert, and his Boston.com blog, Mortal Matters, is off to a compelling start: click here to read “Thanks, Dad,” his powerful post about his father’s passing.
- Veteran journalist Tim Johnson has talked with both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama about their health care stances. Currently the medical editor for WCVB-TV5, Johnson weighed in on the government’s role in health care in the Boston Globe. Click here to read his October 10 op-ed, “A Health Care Disaster.”
- Mitchell Rabkin is CEO emeritus of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. In an Oct. 15 Wall Street Journal op-ed co-authored with John Cook, Rabkin makes a case for transforming the way medical care is paid for — and delivered. Click here to read “Let Doctors Cure Health Care Costs.”
- Mark Wolf, currently US District Court Chief Judge for the District of Massachusetts, announced today that he will step aside and assume senior judge status in early 2013. Click here to learn more in the Boston Globe.
Congratulations to these remarkable board members — and thanks to them, as always, for their leadership of the Schweitzer Fellowship.
