Over the past 9 months, Schweitzer Fellow Cecilia Jiang has dedicated herself to improving quality of life for Asian families affected by disabilities.
Jiang, a student at MGH Institute of Health Professions, has partnered with Joni and Friends (JAF) of Greater Boston to establish a targeted support group. Her Schweitzer project aims to connect these families with suitable respite care resources, and connect the mothers with bi-monthly support groups through JAF.
Additionally, Jiang is facilitating discussions about healthcare disparities and cross-cultural sensitivity within the Institute of Health Professions community.
