Schweitzer Fellow Arti Desai won second place in the Clinical Research category at Loma Linda University’s recent Alumni Postgraduate Convention’s Scientific Poster Session. Arti’s winning poster was titled, “Does Time Really Tell All? Investigating The Relationship Of Time On Maternal Age, BMI, And Parity In Gastroschisis Cases.”
The Seventh-Day Adventist educational health-sciences university hosts the annual Alumni Postgraduate Convention for the purpose of providing continuing education and encouraging spiritual and social interchange. Arti is pictured here with her winning poster and colleague Dr. Tara Billings.
Arti is a 2014-2015 Los Angeles Schweitzer Fellow partnering with the Perinatal Institute at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. She is implementing a culturally and linguistically appropriate educational program focused on preconception and prenatal care with the goal of increasing awareness of maternal risk factors that can contribute to adverse pregnancy outcomes.
