Just like each of our Schweitzer Fellows, each member of The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship’s (ASF’s) Board of Directors has a unique story — and a strong commitment to addressing health disparities.
That’s certainly true of Ralph Fuccillo, ASF’s Board Chair and President of the DentaQuest Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting and promoting optimal oral health. Fuccillo is also the current President of the Massachusetts Health Council — and this Thursday, he’ll be delivering the closing remarks at “Body Parts Uncovered: Health Care Above the Neck,” a symposium dedicated to exploring the linkages between oral, visual, and behavioral health and systemic illness.
If you’re planning on attending the symposium, introduce yourself to Fuccillo, who brings a wealth of experience addressing the social determinants of health to his leadership position with ASF. He served as Executive Director of the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation, and is the immediate past President of the AIDS Action Committee Board of Directors. He’s also a member of the Dimock Community Health Center Board of Visitors, and a board member with Elderhostel, Neighborhood Health Plan, and Funders Concerned about AIDS.
“I am honored to serve on the ASF Board of Directors because I see first hand how this community service experience becomes an imprint for a lifelong commitment to societal health by the Fellows, and how it gives hope to those community members with whom they work,” Fuccillo says.
