October 05, 2012 - Support Us In the Giving Common Challenge Oct. 10-11
On October 10 and 11, the Boston Foundation’s Giving Common Challenge will offer supporters of Boston-area nonprofits—including The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship (ASF)’s Boston program—the chance to magnify the impact of their donations.
“We are thrilled to be included in the inaugural year of the Giving
Common Challenge,” says Devon Reber, MSW, Boston Schweitzer Fellows
Program Director. “We are a community service and leadership development
program that trains graduate students to create change and improve
health in vulnerable communities. In these economically challenging
times, the Giving Common Challenge is a terrific opportunity to make
your support of our program go further.”
Gifts made to The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship, Inc.-Boston through the Giving Common (https://www.givingcommon.org)
between 8 a.m. on October 10 and 8 p.m. on October 11 will be eligible
to receive part of a $150,000 challenge grant pool donated by the Boston
Foundation. To pledge your support in advance, please visit http://tinyurl.com/bsfpgiving.
An initiative of the Boston Foundation, the Giving Common is a free
and searchable online resource to inform data-driven, strategic
philanthropic activities.
“We encourage our Fellows, Fellows for Life (program alumni), and
other supporters to magnify their gift by participating in this
challenge—and by spreading the word about this terrific opportunity,”
Reber says. “We are grateful to all of them—as well as the Boston
Foundation—for their generosity.”
