KATE B. REYNOLDS CHARITABLE TRUST SUSTAINABILITY GRANT APPLICATION
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The major site at which Fellows are working may apply for a $1,000 grant to support plans for sustaining the Schweitzer service project. Only one grant per project may be awarded. The Fellow(s) and their mentors should work together to develop a plan for sustainability and should submit to the Program Director for feedback prior to complete the online grant application. A detailed budget outlining the ways in which the $1,000 grant will be applied need to be attached to the application. Keep in mind, funds can only be used to support project sustainability.

Grant application deadline is April 1. Applications may be submitted before that date if the 200 service hour requirement has been met by the Fellow(s).

Plans for sustainability may include:

  • Integration of the project into ongoing site programming
  • Creation of information which can be presented in a variety of forms, i.e. brochures, DVDs or webpage enhancements that are related to the project and will ensure the project’s enduring value
  • Purchase of equipment or materials which will allow the project to be sustained
  • Establishment of an ongoing relationship with an interest group at the university or a community group which will continue the project as a service initiative. (A letter confirming the intent needs to be provided at the time the grant is submitted.)

The written description of the plan does not need to be lengthy. Only enough information to convey how the project and/or its impact will be sustained along with the detailed budget is required.

If you have questions, please contact Barbara Heffner, NC Program Director, 704-895-6506, beheffner@hotmail.com.

The sustainability grant is made possible through the generosity of the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust.
